Motorcyclist, 61, killed in crash with van near Wick

A motorcyclist has died following a crash with a van in the Highlands.

The 61-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene on the A882 near Wick after the incident on Tuesday.

He was said to be riding a Ducati motorbike when it was involved in the crash with the Ford Transit at about 19:50.

Police closed the road for almost nine hours while an initial investigation was carried out.

It reopened at about 04:20 on Wednesday morning.

Officers have appealed for anyone who stopped at the scene or who may have captured the incident on dashcam footage, external to come forward.
