A large wildfire which began over the weekend continues to burn through grass and gorse.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said many hectares of moorland between Bronaber and Trawsfynydd, Gwynedd, has burned since the fire was reported at about 20:18 GMT on Sunday.

The blaze had a front of 500m (1,640 ft) as of midnight on Monday, the fire service said.

Firefighters were monitoring the situation, saying they hoped the fire would died down on Tuesday.
