Missing cat reunited with owner after nine years

A cat that went missing nine years ago has been reunited with its owners after being found just over two miles away.

Pepé was discovered after a police officer heard troubled meowing as she was leaving work at Lancashire Police’s motorway post in Samlesbury on Wednesday.

PC Liz Harrison found the pet with an injured paw, so she put it into a box and set off for a local vet.

As Pepé was microchipped, the vet contacted owner Caroline in nearby Ribbleton, who said she was “equally shocked and delighted” to hear the mischievous moggy had been found.
