Mason: How soon would Labour deliver 40,000 NHS appointments?

After setting out his set of six properties, Sir Keir Starmer said he had already held talks with staff about how extra weekend and evening NHS appointments would work.

The Labour leader said that was not to waste time in the first 100 days of a Labour government on discussions he can have now.

He told BBC political editor Chris Mason the idea was to “hit the ground running” as soon as the election was called.
