Manchester-born Danger Mouse writer Brian Trueman dies aged 92

Trueman, who grew up in the North West, attended Stretford Grammar School before spending a year at the University of Manchester.

His other son, Ben, posted on X, external: “Some sad news. My father Brian Trueman, has died. 92 years of happy life.”

Paying tribute to his father, he said he was “clever, funny, resilient, an absolute gentleman, loving and loved”.

He added: “We will all miss him so much.”

Hundreds of people have paid tribute to the writer and broadcaster on X.

Writer Bob Fischer tweeted his condolences and said he was “a great presenter and a terrific writer whose work absolutely lit up my childhood”.
