Man who died at Seaham service station was ‘kind hearted’

Tributes have been paid to a “kind-hearted” man who died after being struck by a car at a petrol station.

Daniel Ambler was found with serious injuries at the New Seaham Service Station forecourt in County Durham on Thursday, following reports of a disturbance, police said.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, the 23-year-old died at the scene.

Durham Police launched a murder investigation and three people have been arrested in connection with the death.

A tribute from his family said: “Daniel was a much-loved son and brother, and his death will leave a huge hole in our hearts forever.

“He had a great sense of humour, was popular among friends, and was able to bring laughter to any situation.

“Our family is devastated, but we will remember Daniel for being the kind-hearted soul that he was.”
