Man to stand trial over death of man in Aberdeen

A man is to stand trial charged with killing a father-of-seven in Aberdeen.

Derek Pearson, 46, is accused of attacking Steven Johnson the city’s Carmelite Lane on 12 March last year.

Mr Johnson, 50, died two days later in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Mr Pearson denies the charge. His trial is due to take place next year.
