Police are appealing for witnesses after a 24-year-old car driver suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash with a lorry in Aberdeenshire.

The collision happened on South Deeside Road between Aberdeen and Blairs shortly after 14:30 on Monday.

The injured man who had been driving the white Seat Ibiza was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment. The 57-year-old driver of the lorry, a white Scania, was not injured.

Police Scotland asked anyone with possible information about the crash to contact them.
