Man in his 20s killed in road traffic collision in Coleraine

The collision happened on the Dunhill Road in Coleraine in the early hours of Saturday morning

A man in his 20s has died after being hit by a car in Coleraine.

It happened on the Dunhill Road in the County Londonderry town at about 01:20 GMT on Saturday.

Police officers and the emergency services attended but the pedestrian died at the scene.

The road had been closed but has since reopened.

PSNI Ch Insp Celeste Simpson from the Collision Investigation Unit said police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or to anyone who may have CCTV, dash-cam or any other footage that could assist with enquiries, to get in touch with them.
