The violent attack happened about 22:15 on Saracen Street

A man has been injured after he was hit by an SUV in an attempted murder in Glasgow.

The 33-year-old was taken to hospital following the attack on Saracen Street in the Possilpark area on Thursday about 22:15.

The vehicle made off from the scene and was described as a red SUV-type of vehicle.

Officers said the street should have been reasonably busy with passing traffic at the time and asked any witnesses to contact the force.

Det Sgt David Whyte said: “This was a violent attack and we are carrying out extensive enquiries to trace the person responsible.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed what happened to please contact us with any information.

“The street would have been fairly busy with passing vehicles so I would also ask drivers with dash-cams to check footage as this may assist in our enquiries.”
