Man charged with sexually assaulting Southampton asylum hotel worker

A man has been charged with sexual assault of a staff member at a hotel housing asylum seekers.

Melaku Gebresembet, 23, was arrested following an alleged attack at Highfield House Hotel in Southampton on Friday.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said officers attended the hotel and took statements after the incident was reported on Monday morning.

Gebresembet, an Ethopian national, is due before Southampton magistrates on Wednesday.
