Man charged with Christmas Day murder and three stabbings

A man has appeared in court charged with murdering a man on Christmas Day in Glasgow and stabbing three others.

Felix Thrust, 36, allegedly attacked Dean Kennedy, 38 at Napiershall Street in the city’s west wend.

Court papers state Thrust engaged in a fight with Mr Kennedy, punched and kicked him in the head and body and then repeatedly stabbed him with a knife.

Thrust, who made no plea at Glasgow Sheriff Court, faces a second charge of assaulting another three men – also with a knife and to their severe injury – between December 25 and December 26.

Thrust is claimed to have struck them on the head and body with a knife at locations in Glasgow unknown to the prosecutor.

He was remanded in custody and pending further examination by Sheriff David Taylor.

Thrust, who has no fixed abode, will appear at court again within the next eight days.

It was earlier reported that Mr Kennedy was found injured on Napiershall Street around 23:40 on Christmas Day.

He was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital by medics before he was pronounced dead.

A tribute from friends after his death said: “Rest easy my good friend taken from our streets but not our hearts. Gutted.”
