A man has been charged after a 41-year-old woman was killed in a dog attack at a flat in Aberdeen.

Michelle McLeod died at the scene after emergency services attended the incident in the city’s Foresterhill Road on 7 December 2024.

At the time, police said that the dog – which it was understood was registered as an American Bulldog – had later been destroyed.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed a man had been charged in connection with the incident and a report had been submitted to the procurator fiscal.

BBC Scotland News understands the man has not been charged in connection with the death itself.
