Man arrested for murder after manhunt

A 22-year-old man has been arrested over the fatal stabbing of a teenager after a two-week manhunt.

Adam Henry, 15, died after being stabbed on 9 December in Islington, east London.

Following a public appeal, officers arrested Abdel Dedour on suspicion of murder at an address in north-west London on Friday. Four others were arrested at the same address in connection with the killing.

Det Ch Insp Allam Bhangoo, of the Metropolitan Police, said Mr Dedour had “tried many ways to evade capture, but thanks to the efforts of officers, we are now one step closer to securing justice.”

The detective, who is leading the investigation, added: “Our thoughts remain with Adam’s loved ones throughout this unimaginably difficult time.

“There is no place for senseless acts of violence on our streets – and those responsible for such crimes should be brought to justice.”

Friday’s arrests include three men, aged 18, 23 and 39, and a woman, 47, who were detained for assisting an offender.

The woman was also arrested after an assault on a police officer while the 39-year-old man was also arrested for domestic violence and driving offences.

All five remain behind bars.

Tsidi Winion, 20, of Handyside Street, Camden, was charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon on 15 December.
