Man arrested after teenager injured in Port Glasgow hit-and-run

The incident happened on Ardmore Road about 01:00 on Sunday

A man has been arrested after a hit-and-run incident in Port Glasgow that left a teenager in a critical condition.

The 19-year-old man was walking home from a night out along Ardmore Road, near Selkirk Road, at about 01:00 on Sunday when he was hit by a car that failed to stop.

He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow,

A 38-year-old man has now been arrested in connection with road traffic offences.

Police Scotland said inquiries remain ongoing into the incident.

The force previously said it did not believe it was a targeted hit-and-run and urged the driver to contact them.
