Homes on Drumlaken Street were evacuated during the incident

A 56-year-old man has been arrested after a disturbance in Glasgow led to armed police evacuating homes and cordoning off roads.

Officers said they attended a property on Drumlaken Street in the Summerston area at about 09:50 as part of an ongoing investigation.

A disturbance followed and specialist resources, including firearms officers, were called in as a precaution.

Nearby residents who were evacuated can return to their homes, and roads near the incident have since re-opened.

Sgt Jono Adams said: “I’d like to thank the local community for their support and patience while officers were in attendance.

“While inquiries remain ongoing, there is no longer disruption to the area and no wider risk to the public.”
