Man arrested after €3.7m cocaine seizure at Rosslare port

A man in his 40s has been arrested after police seized cocaine with an estimated street value of €3.7m (£3.2m) at Rosslare port.

More than 53kg (117lb) of the suspected drug was seized at the Wexford port on Monday.

The drugs were discovered when an accompanied freight unit, which had disembarked a ferry from France, was stopped for routine profiling.

After searching the vehicle, with the assistance of a mobile X-ray scanner and a detector dog, the drugs where found concealed within the vehicle’s exhaust system.
