Man, 93, in Kilmarnock road death named by police

Police have named a 93-year-old pedestrian who died after being hit by a car in Kilmarnock.

Andrew Dick died in hospital on Thursday after the incident on Fowlds Street in the Ayrshire town.

He was hit by a green BMW 525 at about 02:40 on Wednesday. The road was closed for seven hours for accident investigations.

Police Scotland said inquiries into the incident remained ongoing and appealed for anyone with information to get in touch.
