Ewan MacDonald died in the crash on the B742 south of Dalrymple

A man who died in a crash near Maybole in South Ayrshire has been named.

Ewan MacDonald, 24, was killed following the incident involving a black BMW 1 Series which happened on the B742 south of Dalrymple at about 00:50 on 21 April.

Emergency services attended but Mr MacDonald was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a statement released through Police Scotland, his family said he would be “forever missed”.

They added: “We are so grateful for all the love, support and kindness shown from our family, friends and community.”

Sgt Scott Gourlay appealed for any drivers who witnessed the crash to come forward.

He said: “Our thoughts are with Ewan’s family and friends.

“Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, and I ask anyone who has not spoken to the police already and saw what happened to contact us.”
