M6: Driver charged after car left in live lane causes crash

A driver has been charged after an abandoned car left in a live motorway lane caused a coach crash, police have said.

Lancashire Police were called at about 01:13 BST on Sunday to the M6 southbound near junction 34 after a car had allegedly been “left unattended in a carriageway”.

A Vauxhall Vectra was reportedly left unlit in lane one, resulting in a coach carrying passengers to collide with the vehicle.

A 44-year-old man from Oldbury, West Midlands, has been charged with failing to provide a specimen for analysis and driving a motor vehicle without a licence.
