M6 delays in the West Midlands after lorry catches fire

There are delays on a stretch of the M6 in the West Midlands after a lorry caught fire.

National Highways said the incident was affecting the motorway northbound between junctions four and six in Birmingham, with three out of the four lanes closed.

At its peak, there were 90-minute delays in the area as the carriageway was closed, with queues stretching nine miles.

That has since reduced, but people heading to Birmingham Airport have been warned to expect long delays northbound.
