M5 closed northbound at Bridgwater junctions after serious crash

The M5 is closed northbound, following a serious crash in the early hours of Sunday.

National Highways said the motorway would remain shut between the Bridgwater junctions in Somerset while police carried out an investigation.

The southbound lanes have been reopened between junctions 23 and 24.

Emergency services and Avon and Somerset Police are in attendance. Drivers have been advised to avoid the area and follow the diversions in place.
