Darts sensation Beau Greaves extended her remarkable winning run in the PDC Women’s Series to 65 matches with victory in the latest tournament in Wigan.
The 21-year-old from Doncaster announced on Friday that she would compete in the PDC World Championship, days after beating world number one Luke Littler in the World Youth Championship semi-finals.
Her focus switched back to the women’s game on Saturday, and the start of a run of four back-to-back tournaments over two days to bring the PDC Women’s Series to a close.
Greaves cantered through the opening four rounds of Saturday’s Women’s Series 21, losing just two of 16 legs, before being taken to a decider by the Netherlands’ Noa-Lynn van Leuven in the quarter-finals.
After beating fellow English player Gemma Hayter 5-1 in the last four, Greaves was once again taken all the way in the final before winning 5-4 against 2022 Women’s World Matchplay champion Fallon Sherrock.
Greaves will join Sherrock and England’s Lisa Ashton at the PDC World Championships, which start at London’s Alexandra Palace on 11 December.
She will also compete in the PDC’s Grand Slam in Wolverhampton in early November, before facing defending champion Gian van Veen of the Netherlands in the youth final at Minehead later next month.
The Women’s Series continues in Wigan with the 22nd tournament of the season later on Saturday, and returns for the concluding 23rd and 24th events on Sunday.
