Louis Kimber: Northamptonshire sign all-rounder from Leicestershire

Northamptonshire have signed Louis Kimber on a two-year deal after the all-rounder was released by Leicestershire.

The 28-year-old played a part in Leicestershire’s County Championship promotion as Division Two title winners this season.

He also helped the Foxes win the One-Day Cup competition in 2023.

In his five years at Grace Road, Kimber scored more than 3,000 runs and took 26 wickets across all competitions.

As a record-breaker with the bat, having scored the fastest County Championship double hundred from 100 balls against Sussex in 2024 – including 43 runs from one over bowled by Ollie Robinson – Northamptonshire head coach Darren Lehmann says Kimber adds “firepower” to his side.

“He will no doubt attract people to Wantage Road with his explosive batting and I can’t wait to start working with him,” Lehmann told the club website., external
