Netherlands international all-rounder Logan van Beek has signed for Leicestershire for the 2025 season.

The 34-year-old has previously played in both formats of the game for Derbyshire and Worcestershire, as well as representing Canterbury and Wellington in New Zealand, where he was born.

Van Beek is a right-handed batter and right-arm medium-fast bowler with over 100 limited-overs caps in international cricket.

He is best known for his feat in the 2023 World Cup qualifiers, when he smashed 30 off a super over and then took two for eight in the West Indies’ reply to earn his country a notable win.

He will arrive in Leicester ahead of the Foxes’ opening County Championship game against Derbyshire on 11 April and is expected to be available for both County Championship games and the Vitality Blast campaign.

Van Beek was in form for the Wellington Firebirds in November, taking five wickets and scoring a century in the Plunket Shield clash with Auckland.

Leicestershire director of cricket Claude Henderson told the club website, external: “He brings a wealth of experience and great character, which will strengthen both our bowling unit and changing room.”
