Lindsey Vonn shares her journey home after Olympics crash

After a week spent in an Italian hospital, US skier Lindsey Vonn has returned to the US to continue her recovery after sustaining a fractured tibia during the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Vonn, who came out of retirement in 2024 to race in these Olympics, has had four surgeries on her injured left leg since the crash.

She was already competing through a torn ACL she sustained in warm ups for the race.

“Haven’t stood on my feet in over a week… been in a hospital bed immobile since my race. And although I’m not yet able to stand, being back on home soil feels amazing,” Vonn posted to Instagram.
