Liam Payne’s death left ex Clevedon Pier boss ‘utterly shocked’

The former manager of a pier where One Direction filmed one of their videos says the death of Liam Payne left her “utterly shocked”.

The star died at the age of 31 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Wednesday after falling from a balcony.

Linda Strong ran Clevedon Pier, in North Somerset, when the band made the video for ‘You & I’ in 2014.

Speaking to Claire Cavanagh on BBC Radio Bristol, Ms Strong said Payne was a “talented man” who took time out to speak to her when the band visited the pier.
