LEZ: Where are Scotland’s new Low Emission Zones?

In less than a month’s time, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Dundee will launch their city centre Low Emission Zones (LEZ), joining Glasgow whose zone has already been operating for a year.

The schemes aim to cut emissions and pollution in the city centre by stopping some vehicles from entering.

Edinburgh and Aberdeen’s LEZ schemes will go live from 1 June – exactly one year after Glasgow.

The Dundee LEZ will start slightly earlier on 30 May.

All three zones officially started two years ago, but a “grace period” was enacted to give people time to prepare for full enforcement in 2024.
