Lennon Miller: Motherwell reject ‘couple of offers’ amid Udinese report

Motherwell have “had a couple of offers from a club” for 18-year-old midfielder Lennon Miller that were “miles away from our valuation”, chief executive Brian Caldwell has revealed.

It follows a report from Sky Sports claiming that Italian top-flight club Udinese have had an offer in the region of £2.5m rejected by the Scottish Premiership club.

Caldwell’s statement came in a “January update” on Well’s YouTube channel following the side’s weekend Scottish Cup defeat by St Johnstone.

“We are not desperate to sell the player. We’ve always said, from day one, it’s got to be right for Lennon, it’s got to be right for the football club and we’re not going to accept any kind of offer.

“Lennon Miller is statistically, I believe, in the top seven players in the world for his age for midfield players, so he’s an exceptional talent – we all know that.

“And, if and when Lennon does move, it will be for the right price for us and it will be right for Lennon Miller as the same time.”

Miller, who has been a key player for Stuart Kettlewell’s side for the past two seasons, is currently sidelined with an ankle fracture.
