Lennon Miller: Motherwell midfielder to miss up to two months

Influential teenage Motherwell midfielder Lennon Miller will be sidelined for up to two months after fracturing an ankle.

The Scotland Under-21s international has been a key player for Stuart Kettlewell’s side over the past two seasons, and is contracted to the Fir Park club until the summer of 2026.

Miller, 18, was substituted in the second half of Motherwell’s 2-2 draw with Rangers on 29 December, having hurt himself tackling Oscar Cortes earlier in the match.

And his manager has confirmed the diagnosis is worse than first feared.

“He’s going to be longer than a month,” Kettlewell said. “He’s got a hairline fracture in his ankle which is going to keep him out for an extended period of time.

“He’s done this twice now. With Lennon being Lennon he tried to stay on. Last season he had a fracture in his patella but tried to finish the game.

“But in getting that yellow card it looks like he’s sustained a pretty significant injury which is going to keep him out somewhere around six to eight weeks.”
