Leicester City: Interim manager Jennifer Foster stepping down

Interim Leicester City manager Jennifer Foster has confirmed she will not manage the Women’s Super League side next season.

Foster took charge in March when Willie Kirk – later sacked by the club – was suspended following an investigation into an allegation he had a relationship with a player.

She has managed eight games, but said Saturday’s season-ending match against Liverpool will be her last in charge.

“The club are in the process of hiring a new manager and the process is coming towards the final stages, which is great,” Foster told a news conference.

“The manager they’re looking for is obviously one with ambition, which I’m really excited to work with. I’ve loved it [being interin manager] but I’m really excited to work with the new manager that comes in.”
