Leicester City: Gary Rowett set to be named new manager

Relegation-threatened Championship strugglers Leicester City are poised to name Gary Rowett as their new head coach.

BBC Radio Leicester report that Rowett, 51, took training with the Foxes on Wednesday.

He looks set to be the permanent replacement for Marti Cifuentes, who was sacked three weeks ago.

Rowett had a short spell with the Foxes during his playing career and arrives with 14 games of the Championship season remaining, with the club two points adrift of safety in 22nd position in the table.

H has previously managed five clubs in the Championship, taking charge of Birmingham City, Derby County, Millwall, Stoke City and most recently Oxford United, were he was sacked after almost a year in charge.
