Lee Trundle: Ex-Swansea City striker swaps football for boxing in charity fight

Former Swansea City striker Lee Trundle is swapping football for boxing in a white-collar charity fight in London on Saturday.

The 49-year-old will fight former Tottenham Hotspur defender Anthony Gardner as one of five bouts on the Pro Project Promotions card, all between ex-footballers, as they try to raise £500,000 for life-changing charities.

Trundle had two spells at Swansea, playing between 2003 and 2007 before returning in 2009 for one season.

He has been training with Wales’ former WBO cruiserweight world champion Enzo Maccarinelli at his gym in Bonymaen and invited BBC Sport Wales to one of his sessions.
