A man in his 30s has sustained extensive injuries after being assaulted by armed intruders in County Londonderry.
Police say two men forced their way into his home in the Garvagh Road area of Kilrea on Monday evening and attacked the man with weapons.
He is being treated in hospital for injuries to his head, face and body.
The same man was also assaulted earlier in the day, according to police.
Three men and a woman have been arrested.
Detectives have described the assault at the house as “serious” and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
