Jersey embracing being favourites in 2028 T20 World Cup qualifier

Jersey are top of their five-team group at the midway point of the pool stage on net run-rate, ahead of France who have also won their opening two games.

Only the group winners will have a chance of qualification – they will go into a play-off against the winners of the other five-team group at the tournament.

It means Tuesday’s game with France will be key to Jersey’s success.

“France are a very dangerous side, I think maybe the second-strongest side in this group,” added Perchard.

“So we can’t slip up – we need to ensure that we’re well-focused for that one.

“You do have to win every game to get out this group with 10 teams in it and only one side qualifying.

“This game against France is going to be do-or-die for us, and if we don’t win that I think our chance of qualification will be slim.”
