Irish Premiership: Glentoran versus Cliftonville postponed

Glentoran’s Irish Premiership game with Cliftonville which was to be played on Sunday afternoon has been postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.

The game was set for a 14:00 GMT kick-off and was to be shown live across BBC Northern Ireland but, after heavy rain in Belfast on Saturday and Sunday morning, the surface at the Oval failed a pitch inspection at 09:00.

A Glentoran statement said: “A new date for the match will be confirmed in due course and we will communicate updated arrangements to supporters as soon as they are available.”

It is the second time a fixture between the pair has fallen victim to the weather this season. In October, an Irish Premiership meeting at Solitude was postponed because of Storm Amy.
