Ian Blackford: Yousaf resignation ‘in Scotland’s best interest’

The SNP’s former leader in Westminster has said Humza Yousaf, Scotland’s first minister, has resigned in the country’s “best interest”.

Ian Blackford’s comments came shortly after the Mr Yousaf announced his resignation on Monday.

Mr Yousaf said he had “underestimated” the level of hurt after ending a power-sharing deal with the Scottish Greens last week.

Ian Blackford added that he believed Mr Yousaf still could have won a motion of no confidence if that had happened this week.
