A teacher in Bangladesh has described the moment he witnessed a jet crash into a school campus in the capital, Dhaka.

Masud Tarik was by the gates of Milestone School when he heard an explosion behind him.

At least 19 people died, including the pilot, when a Bangladeshi air force training jet crashed into the school on Monday.

Some 164 people were injured, with 50 people – including children – taken to hospital with burns.

The armed forces said the F-7 jet experienced a mechanical fault after taking off.
