Hull KR’s Tom Whitehead has joined Championship side Doncaster on loan for the rest of the season.

The second-rower, 23, joined the reigning Super League champions this season from Warrington Wolves, where he made 11 appearances in three seasons.

After playing and scoring tries in two Challenge Cup games for the Robins, Whitehead made his Super League debut for them in a defeat at Catalans Dragons in March, but has not featured since.

He was loaned out five times last season and also played on a dual-contract basis for Widnes Vikings, but signed a three-year contract for KR in November.
