Ligi Sao has signed a new one-year contract extension to stay with Hull FC for the 2026 Super League season.

Samoa prop Sao, 32, has been with Hull for six seasons since his move from New Zealand Warriors in the NRL.

Sao has made 94 league appearances for the Airlie Birds, but he has been limited to just two in 2025 after suffering a serious knee injury in February.

But he is set to return to the field for the start of pre-season training in November.

“I’m grateful to Hull FC for the opportunity to represent this great club for another year in 2026,” he said, external.

“I’m also eternally grateful to all of the medical and back room staff for the support they have given me on my rehab journey this year.”
