Hull City sign goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis for club-record fee

Newly promoted Hull City have signed Greece goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis from Olympiacos for a club-record fee.

The 23-year-old joins the Tigers on a five-year contract.

Neither side has confirmed the fee but it eclipses the £13m they paid Tottenham for Ryan Mason in 2016.

Tzolakis has spent his entire senior career with Olympiacos, making 131 appearances and winning eight trophies, including four Greek Super League titles and the 2023-24 Uefa Conference League, since his debut in 2020.

The month after helping Olympiacos to European success, he made his international debut against Malta and has gone on to earn nine caps.

“I am ready for a new chapter in my career,” Tzolakis said.

“With Olympiacos, I had a successful career with a Conference League title, championship and a cup, also European games and Champions League.

Hull City is something different because we are playing in the Premier League. We have to fight against top players, so it’s a challenge for me.

“I feel ready. I will give everything I have every single day in training to help our team to achieve its goals. I’m excited to be in England. I wanted to come to Hull City because the Premier League is the top stage.”
