Horncastle shoppers embrace town’s “wonky” Christmas tree

Residents in one Lincolnshire market town are embracing their “wonky” Christmas tree and all its flaws.

Local people took to social media to bemoan the tree, which had been donated by the Horncastle and District Lions, but appeared to have several branches missing on one side.

However, shoppers in the town described it as a “seven” out of 10, with one saying: “It is a little bit wonky, but that doesn’t matter, does it?”, while another added: “It just needs a few more baubles, doesn’t it?”

Michael Harrison, of the Lions, said: “It’s not the perfect tree, but it’s a lovely big Christmas tree, and it provides a Christmassy atmosphere for the town.”
