Homes evacuated after discovery of suspicious object

Residents have left their homes in north Belfast following the discovery of a suspicious object in the area.

Eia Street, which is off the Antrim Road, is closed at its junction with Brookhill Avenue.

Police said the object was found on Monday afternoon and “a number of homes” were advised to evacuate as enquiries continue.

They have also advised motorists to avoid the area.
