Heads of Valleys roadworks set to go after 23 years

They have been the bane of drivers’ lives since before wifi, smartphones and social media.

But after 23 years the roadworks on the A465 Heads of the Valleys road are about to go.

The idea is improvements to the highway will boost links for hospitals, shops employment and tourism.

Reporter Peter Shuttleworth, was in Merthyr Tydfil, and said: “On this phase alone about 5,000 construction workers have built 30 new bridges and six new junctions.”
