England batters Harry Brook and Joe Root will play for Yorkshire in this week’s County Championship match against Warwickshire.

The pair have been included in the squad for the game at Headingley, starting on Friday.

Head coach Anthony McGrath said last month he hoped to have the batters available for the game and said it was “perfect” to be able to call on their services.

“That will make selection tough, but that’s life with two international-class players coming back into the side. It’s a good problem to have,” he told the club website., external

Yorkshire have won one, drawn one and lost one of their three matches, while Warwickshire have won once and drawn twice.

Brook, who was appointed England one-day captain last month, and Root will be back in action for their country in the one-off Test against Zimbabwe this month.
