Gold bullion seizure: Man charged after operation in Dublin

A man has been charged after police seized gold bullion, cash and suspected cocaine in a two-day search operation in the Republic of Ireland.

A man in his 50s is expected to appear before a court in Dublin on Monday 30 September.

The searches took place on Thursday and Friday in residential and business premises in the Dublin area.

Police recovered worth gold bullion worth €1.4m (£1.2m), €460,000 (£384,000) in cash and €210,000 (£175,000) in suspected cocaine.
