Gloucestershire’s quirkiest polling stations – from bars to pools

For many voters, polling day involves a trip to their local community centre, school or church.

But for some Gloucestershire residents, marking an X on their ballot papers will see them travel to more unorthodox locations.

From a sports bar to a country estate famed for its snowdrops in winter, there is a lot of variety when it comes to polling station venues.

Head instructor at Kenbu Dojo in Gloucester, Sinéad Byrne, said the karate club’s Montpellier Hall is being used on Thursday so they have had to cancel classes.
