Glasgow walking group tackling loneliness

A couple who live in Glasgow have started up a walking group initiative to help people who feel lonely or want a sense of community.

Jack Glass and Billi Allen-Mandeville started Walking is Mental, where they aim to do a weekly walk every Sunday in different parks around the city.

Jack said starting the group had improved his own mental health, while Billi said it had given her “a purpose”.

The pair said they make sure their walks are close to transport links so that they are accessible and easy for anyone to join in.
