Giffnock park evacuated and closed after gas main bursts

A park on the outskirts of Glasgow has been evacuated and closed due to a gas leak.

Police Scotland said it was called to a report of a burst gas main in Eastwood Park in Giffnock at about 16:00.

East Renfrewshire Council said all buildings within the park were closed, so any activities at the leisure centre or pitch have been cancelled.

Scottish Gas Networks (SGN) is dealing with the issue and people are advised to avoid the area.
