‘Tis the season to be jolly — and Fortnite players have plenty to be happy about with the game’s upcoming annual holiday event. Every year, Winterfest provides players with free goodies to bring into their favorite game modes, including harvesting tools, gliders and even player skins.

This virtual Advent calendar is launching soon, according to a post on Fortnite’s official X account. Fortnite fans can expect the event to launch Dec. 18.
During the event, a new present will be available once you log into the game. Players will be able to collect these rewards once a day, and the event will run until early January.
While we don’t yet know the full suite of goodies included within the Winterfest 2025 event, pictures containing some of the free skins were shared by prominent Fortnite leaker HypeX.
The Game Awards revealed that Harry Potter is coming to Fortnite soon, and the Winterfest 2025 teaser, showing a chocolate frog, suggests that the holiday event might integrate the boy wizard.

When does Winterfest 2025 start? How long is the event?
Winterfest 2025 is expected to start Dec. 18. When it does, the annual Advent calendar will become available to all Fortnite players. The event lasts until early in January — previous years’ Winterfest events have ended on Jan. 10.
What free skins will be featured in Winterfest 2025?
While we don’t know the names of any cosmetics featured in Winterfest 2025, an image leaked by HypeX from the game’s discovery tab features player skins and other items that likely will be part of the Advent calendar.
Festive cosmetics have already been teased in-game but they’ll be released alongside the Winterfest event.
While every Winterfest Advent calendar gift contains a free cosmetic, not every one of them is a player skin. The rewards include loading screens, harvesting tools, gliders and other goodies.
